Description
Citra® hops are rather new to the craft beer scene, as they were created in 2008 by John I. Haas and Select Botanicals Group. They've garnered much attention due to their unique tropical flavors and aromas, credited to their very high immersing content.
Citra® boasts a huge flavor profile of grapefruit, passion fruit, lemon, lime, and melon among others. In addition to its great flavor, Citra® boasts aromas of peach, gooseberry and lychee Many consider Citra® pellet hops to be the best in a late addition or dry hop capacity.
When it’s used as a single variety or in a blend, Citra® does well in American wheat beers, pale ales, IPAs, and Belgian-style ales.
