Description
This hop carries an alpha acid of 12 to 14 percent and a beta acid of 3 to 4.5 percent. Simcoe® is a dual-purpose hop, which makes it highly popular among a lot of brewers. Two common styles of beer that use Simcoe® pellet hops are Indian Pale Ale and American Pale Ale.
The aroma one should expect from Simcoe® is fruity, earthy pine, somewhat citrusy along those lines. Simcoe® hop originates from the famous Yakima valley in the state of Washington, northwest of the USA.
It was originally released to the public in 2000 by Yakima Chief Ranches and has become one of the go-to hops for many homebrewers around the world.
