Although the S-type coupler (also known as European Sankey) looks awfully similar to the US Sankey (D-type) coupler, it does feature a thinner, longer probe. If you try to hook up a European coupler to an American beer, you will most likely get a spray. The vice versa connection won’t work at all.
With a proper S-type coupler in place, your European beer will pour nicely and always ensure the right taste.
